Hola people! How is everyone beating the crazy summer heat? I have switched over to cotton in my wardrobe, and melons in my diet. It stuns me how cotton, being such a lightweight and a ‘simple’ fabric, can still transcend into a strong outfit with high impact. So, today’s post is all about a floral explosion with PERKY POCKETS where I’ve experimented with fabrics and prints.
Flowers are a beautiful symbol of freshness, grace, and purity and are synonymous with spring. Floral prints are what I naturally cleave to in all seasons but I can play around with them much more in the spring.
There are certain trends that are practically reminiscent of summer. Floral prints are eternal, versatile and represent strong femininity, cheerfulness, and effortlessness. Florals are all about having fun with fashion and staying comfortable this summer. Floral prints definitely put me in a good mood! How about you?
I am dressed up in PERKY POCKETS with umbrella overhead, flowers for dresses, and happy smiles for make-up!
These prints are so nice that you don’t really need to accessorize. What do you think?
Do tell me in the comments what do you think about this look!

Mangoes, ice cream, staying indoors, and rising temperatures are telltale signs that summer is here and yellow as a color certainly adds that much-needed summer announcement to your closet! If there is one essential that needs to be in your wardrobe for summer, it’s the maxi dress. Whenever I have to get ready to head out, the easiest choice for me is to pick out a maxi dress and team it up with some statement jewelry or go one step further and accessorize with a lovely pair of heels. Boom! I’m ready to slay any party with hardly any effort.
Have you spotted this gorgeous color popping up everywhere? I am a sucker for yellow, so here today I am wearing a yummy yellow summer screamer maxi dress. I love how this dress is versatile and can be used for simple days out as well as an occasion that needs dressing up. Moreover, they not only look good but also help stay cool through summer. Keeping the look simple and all eyes on yellow, I paired up this dress with a gold neck-piece, tassels earrings, and flats.
Before I leave for my party, I would like to remind you to decide the length of the dress before you go ahead and buy it. The length of the dress just below the ankle, nearly touching your feet (neither too short nor too long) is dainty, feminine and easy to walk without tripping too. That’s my go-to length. But check your height before you go shopping since long dresses could make short girls look stocky and very tall girls look lanky.
If you’re comfortable and are able to walk without grabbing a handful of the fabric in your hands, you’re all set!
Do tell me in the comments what you think about this look!

I can’t think of a better festival than Holi to celebrate friendship, family, love, and happiness. Symbolizing spring and the victory of good over evil, Holi has been a family favorite and mine especially for as long as I can remember. The balloons, vibrant hues, food, dance parties and colors have us almost as excited as the opportunity to bring all the pretty dresses out!
I got invited to a Holi party recently and I had just one question – what do I wear? It’s a playful festival so it’s versatile – jeans, shorts, dresses, Indian attire – you can wear anything. I, personally, naturally lean towards white for this festival and that’s what I did this time too. I teamed up my white kurta with a vibrant stole and jeans.
This year, I had to come up with a stylish way to protect my hair. I made a turban out of a bandana for a chic look and hide my tresses from the harshness this color can have sometimes.
I’m all set now to get messy and play Holi! Wish you and your family the best one you’ve had yet.

Summer is our favorite season – sunshine, watermelons, butterflies, the opportunity to dress ourselves in cheerful colors and brave cuts – sigh! We’re super excited to dress ourselves and you this season. Light capes, shorts, scarves, long shirts, summer dresses – all make for really cool and stylish outfits and practical too given the intense heat we are expecting this year. Tuck the blacks and greys to the back of your wardrobe and embrace every bright color there is on offer. We’re going to show you just how to style yourself and make heads turn wherever you go.
My affection for Indian wear knows no boundaries and you’ll always find me attracted towards it in the slightest of ways; whether it’s teaming up jhumkas with my western outfits or add a desi touch with bindi or mojris. It’s a cultured elegance that certainly boosts the outfit tenfold.
A house of textiles, India has always been known for its culture and crafts. Kalamkari is one such form of craft which includes freehand drawing and block printing on cotton fabrics derived from Persian words. Characteristically named after the technique of its making, ”qalam” denoting pen and ”kari” signifying craftsmanship, Kalamkari has been ubiquitous in numerous parts of Southern India, primarily in Andhra Pradesh. This art makes use of only natural colors or vegetable dyes which makes it unique!
Several Indian fashion designers are using kalamkari recurrently in their fashion week runways; the latest trend that seems to have caught the attention of fashionistas is the Buddha print. Fashion enthusiasts seem to be well-tuned to the fact that the Buddha need not be detained for being a statue in the lounge, but can be fashionably sported on dresses, sarees, jackets, or kurtas too.
I particularly love the way contemporary Indian wear binds traditional silhouettes with edgy styles and that’s exactly what I am wearing from my own label Perky Pockets. This outfit is an amalgamation of trendy style with alluring Indian print and design, sure to turn some heads!
Keeping the look simple and the attention focused on Buddha print, I paired up this dress with silver jhumkas and nude heels.
Perky Pockets offers you outfits using the finest fabrics. We have a lot of striking and amazing clothes, if you like them, wish to customize a dress, top, kurta and more… or just want to get to know them, get in touch with us on Facebook or Instagram.

Wish you all a very happy new year!
I love how 2017 treated me both with my work and my family! I am super excited and am looking forward to 2018 with renewed energy and focus to realize all my dreams this year! The time has come to ring in the new year, so why not celebrate the night in style? Stay on trend this New Year!
This season, I decided to trade in the classic but cliched party staples like black dresses, slinky or sequined outfits, and wear a Co-ord set from my label – Perky Pockets.
‘Co-Ords’, or two-piece sets is another 90’s revival trend. They are versatile, and it’s all about that hassle-free throw-on and go attitude when you’re in an absolute rush and can’t be fretting to pick different separates and put an outfit together!
Moving onto my OOTD, the material is absolutely amazing and the boat print is super cute and quirky. I am wearing a crop top along with a wide leg bottom. If you are a fellow print lover, this takes print appreciation entirely to a new level! If you’re edgy about wearing these same print items together, start with a solid colored one in a flattering style.
So, next time if you come across any cool print or material two-piece set, then buy it as matching sets and your co-ord will surely turn heads. This trend is all about having fun with the look, so don’t shy away from experimenting every once in a while. Co-ords are a must-have look this year so don’t be left behind! Two become one this season in the fashion game, set, and match.
You can find an amazing range of Co-ord sets, tops, dresses, maxi, and kurta-pant set in different designs at Perky Pockets and they’re affordable too!

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great year ahead!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream has 34 shades to choose from, all ranging from nudes to vibrant colors. Although, I prefer the pink and nudes. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream is one of the best lip creams I have ever used. I have become an absolute sucker for matte lipsticks ever since I bought these. It has a creamy texture that glides smoothly, feels weightless and sets to matte finish, and I prefer the texture of these over most liquid lipsticks as they do not dry out my lips. It lasts for at least 5 to 6 hours and keeps my lips moisturized, which makes this product simply amazing for the price!
Its packaging is not too fancy but it comes in a cute color-coded tube with a velvety black cap; it’s compact and perfect for your handbag. It has a doe foot applicator which helps in precise application. The shades are highly pigmented so you might not see a much difference in multiple coats, but to avoid the streaky feel, apply it once horizontally and then vertically.
My current favorite shades are-
Stockholm
London
Here are the shades that I have and their individual swatches:
Stockholm (SMLC02)
It’s an earthy shade with pinkish undertones. This matte lip cream smells amazing, somewhat like vanilla! For a more subdued look, it’s a perfect nude and I am personally very fond of it, usually the shade I reach for when I can’t decide what goes best with any outfit. However, it is a neutral shade yet richly pigmented and opaque enough to cover pigmented lips in one application. I recommend this shade as it is well-matched for light to medium skin tones and it could wash out darker complexions.
MRP: Rs 570 (bought from Sephora Pune)
Here you can see how it looks like on my skin tone.
Packaging:
London(SMLC04)
London is a beautiful nude lip color with a pinch of brown; it appears very natural on fair and light skin tones. Pigmentation is on the medium side, so it doesn’t look totally opaque on the lips in one swipe. I absolutely love how lightweight this is on the lips. It keeps my lips moisturized too!
MRP: Rs 600 (bought from Nykaa)
Here you can see how it looks like on my skin tone.
Packaging:
If you are looking for warm neutral lip shades which are long lasting and inexpensive, you could give these lip creams a try.
