I can’t think of a better festival than Holi to celebrate friendship, family, love, and happiness. Symbolizing spring and the victory of good over evil, Holi has been a family favorite and mine especially for as long as I can remember. The balloons, vibrant hues, food, dance parties and colors have us almost as excited as the opportunity to bring all the pretty dresses out!
I got invited to a Holi party recently and I had just one question – what do I wear? It’s a playful festival so it’s versatile – jeans, shorts, dresses, Indian attire – you can wear anything. I, personally, naturally lean towards white for this festival and that’s what I did this time too. I teamed up my white kurta with a vibrant stole and jeans.
This year, I had to come up with a stylish way to protect my hair. I made a turban out of a bandana for a chic look and hide my tresses from the harshness this color can have sometimes.
I’m all set now to get messy and play Holi! Wish you and your family the best one you’ve had yet.
Be-You-tiful!

Summer is our favorite season – sunshine, watermelons, butterflies, the opportunity to dress ourselves in cheerful colors and brave cuts – sigh! We’re super excited to dress ourselves and you this season. Light capes, shorts, scarves, long shirts, summer dresses – all make for really cool and stylish outfits and practical too given the intense heat we are expecting this year. Tuck the blacks and greys to the back of your wardrobe and embrace every bright color there is on offer. We’re going to show you just how to style yourself and make heads turn wherever you go.
My affection for Indian wear knows no boundaries and you’ll always find me attracted towards it in the slightest of ways; whether it’s teaming up jhumkas with my western outfits or add a desi touch with bindi or mojris. It’s a cultured elegance that certainly boosts the outfit tenfold.
A house of textiles, India has always been known for its culture and crafts. Kalamkari is one such form of craft which includes freehand drawing and block printing on cotton fabrics derived from Persian words. Characteristically named after the technique of its making, ”qalam” denoting pen and ”kari” signifying craftsmanship, Kalamkari has been ubiquitous in numerous parts of Southern India, primarily in Andhra Pradesh. This art makes use of only natural colors or vegetable dyes which makes it unique!
Several Indian fashion designers are using kalamkari recurrently in their fashion week runways; the latest trend that seems to have caught the attention of fashionistas is the Buddha print. Fashion enthusiasts seem to be well-tuned to the fact that the Buddha need not be detained for being a statue in the lounge, but can be fashionably sported on dresses, sarees, jackets, or kurtas too.
I particularly love the way contemporary Indian wear binds traditional silhouettes with edgy styles and that’s exactly what I am wearing from my own label Perky Pockets. This outfit is an amalgamation of trendy style with alluring Indian print and design, sure to turn some heads!
Keeping the look simple and the attention focused on Buddha print, I paired up this dress with silver jhumkas and nude heels.
Perky Pockets offers you outfits using the finest fabrics. We have a lot of striking and amazing clothes, if you like them, wish to customize a dress, top, kurta and more… or just want to get to know them, get in touch with us on Facebook or Instagram.

Wish you all a very happy new year!
I love how 2017 treated me both with my work and my family! I am super excited and am looking forward to 2018 with renewed energy and focus to realize all my dreams this year! The time has come to ring in the new year, so why not celebrate the night in style? Stay on trend this New Year!
This season, I decided to trade in the classic but cliched party staples like black dresses, slinky or sequined outfits, and wear a Co-ord set from my label – Perky Pockets.
‘Co-Ords’, or two-piece sets is another 90’s revival trend. They are versatile, and it’s all about that hassle-free throw-on and go attitude when you’re in an absolute rush and can’t be fretting to pick different separates and put an outfit together!
Moving onto my OOTD, the material is absolutely amazing and the boat print is super cute and quirky. I am wearing a crop top along with a wide leg bottom. If you are a fellow print lover, this takes print appreciation entirely to a new level! If you’re edgy about wearing these same print items together, start with a solid colored one in a flattering style.
So, next time if you come across any cool print or material two-piece set, then buy it as matching sets and your co-ord will surely turn heads. This trend is all about having fun with the look, so don’t shy away from experimenting every once in a while. Co-ords are a must-have look this year so don’t be left behind! Two become one this season in the fashion game, set, and match.
You can find an amazing range of Co-ord sets, tops, dresses, maxi, and kurta-pant set in different designs at Perky Pockets and they’re affordable too!

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great year ahead!

It’s December and planning for Christmas party is in full swing. I can’t believe where did the time go? I am very excited for Christmas, the parties, get-togethers, spending quality time with family and friends, the secret Santa surprises, the glittery Christmas tree, sharing gifts and carols in the air! Furthermore, along with splurging on presents and decorations, it’s also time to think about what to wear to parties. Are you ready? If not and you need to get your party style sorted, then this is the blog for you! Here are a few easy-to-achieve ideas that might inspire you.
It’s time for some swanky and festive fashion ideas for the Christmas season. So here are my few Christmas Party Looks; whether it’s a fancy Christmas party night or Christmas lunch!
Look 1
This shift style red dress is such a classic shape and makes it a refined and timeless look. This shape and cut is so flattering as it really clinches on your waist and then kicks out making your waist look not only smaller, but also it hides the bulges in the tummy area – surely a win-win!
Look 2
While red might be the color of the moment, green is still enjoying its fashion resurgence. Don’t forget about red’s faithful companion: green, this Christmas! Paired green palazzo with white bell sleeves top for an elegant and contemporary look.
Look 3
Add some staple pieces from your wardrobe and still have a festive outfit on your hands. For a more casual look, team it up with scarves, wraps, and shawls; the easiest way to achieve a party outfit and look stylish and chic! I always have an element in my look that is minimal and classic and makes the whole get-up look clean and put together.
Look 4
This next look is so feminine and fabulous, the lace dress is a perfect option for a romantic look. Wear it with the right accessories, hairstyle, and a flawless makeup!
Look 5
I adore this look; ideal for a Christmas evening or a Christmas lunch in the city. This skirt gives a flattering shape and is perfect for all body types, the top I teamed with it is so versatile, perfect for matching with any skirts, or it would look equally chic if worn with some black pants and stilettos!
Look 6
I am a huge fan of maxi dresses all year long! And this RED maxi is perfect for Christmas party. Maxi dresses are stylish, feminine, comfortable and elegant!
So, which one is your favorite look? I would love to hear from you!
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
